July 23, 1951-April 9, 2009

Rochelle Sandeen

Rochelle Rasmussen-Sandeen I am from Quileute / Makah Nations. Student, artist, poet, Mother/Grandmother, former silversmith, and scrimshader

I find fulfillment in participating in Native American Student activities, Powwows, Diversity based activities, including a variety of community work.

I hope to complete my educational work in Communications and minoring in Diversity in Higher Education. With a Bachelors degree earned, I can work in a Diverse Student Advising Support system, mentor and advocate for students who are working on their college education with a focus on Native Americans for recruitment and retention.

My belief is that with all directions, we can celebrate our connectiveness and grow in an honoring and responsible manner for the next seven generations. It is our responsibility to provide guidance, humility, and honor for all people.

We are all related. My father gave me by role modeling to be a hard worker. My mother gave me strength. My grandmothers from Minnesota and my fishing villages gave me the appreciation of life and our children. My grandfathers gave my strength, spirituality, and unconditional love.

I hold up to all-to be that strength with love and honor for our children, children's children and so on.

Rochelle
